  • The EVO Q-PLUS  Laser is the first of its kind, utilizing 3 intense wavelengths to treat ALL colors of ink effectively.
  • This laser combines KTP 532nm, Ruby 694nm and ND:YAG 1064nm, across all patient skin types to yield the best possible results.
  • The EVO Q-PLUS is able to treat the largest array of tattoo ink colors, including red, yellow, purple, green, blue and even light blue.

EVO Q-PLUS LaserThe EVO Q-PLUS Laser uses photoacoustic energy to target the ink being removed with intensive precision.

Because this process is “acoustic”, and does not use heat, the surrounding tissue is not harmed. Only the pigment is shattered.

Short pulses of acoustic energy are passed through the  upper layers of the skin and deep into the ink molecules. Each pulse of the laser further shatters the pigment of the tattoo being removed.

Tattoo Removal FAQs
What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser Tattoo Removal is a process that uses a laser to target the pigment in the unwanted tattoo. Targeted energy  breaks up and releases the pigment over a series of treatments. Each individual treatment in the series will fade the tattoo more and more until it fades away.  The laser tattoo removal process is safe and effective and can be performed with minimal downtime.

How does Laser Tattoo Removal work? What laser do we use?
  • The EVO Q-PLUS C Laser by Cartessa (manufactured by Quanta System Aesthetic Division) uses photoacoustic energy to target the ink being removed with intensive precision.
  • Because this process is “acoustic”, and does not use heat, the surrounding tissue is not harmed. Only the pigment is shattered.

Short pulses of acoustic energy are passed through the  upper layers of the skin and deep into the ink molecules. Each pulse of the laser further shatters the  pigment of the tattoo being removed.

  • Light to medium skin tones yield best results.
  • Tattoos with dark, shallowly placed ink are easiest. Every ink pigment is composed of a different kind of metal and will yield a different reaction to the laser.
  • Professional tattoo inks that are free of titanium dioxide or iron oxide are easiest to treat.
  • Newer, fresher tattoos are removed more easily
  • Those with smaller tattoos with fewer colors
Which tattoos are most difficult for Laser Tattoo Removal?
  • Tattoos created by non-professionals are the most challenging and take more sessions
  • Generally, the older the tattoo, the more sessions will be required
  • Tattoos will large amounts of ink or that have been covered over and retouched

Black, dark blue, gray and green inks are the easiest to remove completely.

What ink colors are hardest to remove with Laser Tattoo Removal?
  • Colors such as aqua, pink, light blue, purple, brown, yellow and orange can be effectively treated, but may never fade away completely.
  • White ink cannot be removed.
How many Laser Tattoo Removal treatments will I need?
  • Each treatment plan is highly individualized and depends on a number of factors such as the size and placement of the tattoo, the type and colors of ink used, and the overall health and lifestyle of the patient.
  • It is a good rule of thumb to go into the process knowing that at least 6 treatments will most likely be needed as a minimum. Generally, you will need more than 6 treatments to fully resolve the tattoo. This process can be lengthy, but the results are worth it.
  • Smokers or those with poor circulation will require more treatments as circulation is a key factor is the removal of pigment by the bloodstream.
How far apart are Laser Tattoo treatments scheduled?
  • As a general rule, treatment are spaced 8 weeks apart
  • Areas to be treated must be fully healed before a new session can be undertaken
  • It takes about 3 to 6 weeks post treatment for the body to absorb the shattered pigment fragments, and a full 8 weeks to heal.

Does Laser Tattoo Removal hurt?

Laser tattoo Removal is not a comfortable treatment, but we do numb the areas to be treated with a powerful medical numbing agent that includes Benzocaine, Lidocaine, and Tetracaine. We call it BLT.

Does Laser Tattoo Removal have any downtime?
  • Immediately post treatment with Laser Tattoo Removal, the targeted area of the tattoo that has been treated will appear frosted and puffy.
  • This frosted puffiness will most likely resolve within a few hours or possibly less. However, the puffiness may last for several days.
  • The treated areas will be bandaged and must remain covered and clean.
  • It is normal for the treated areas to become red, swollen and blistered.
  • There will very likely be some peeling and flaking as the area begins to resolve and heal.
  • A scab will most likely form once the blister has subsided.
What is the aftercare for Laser Tattoo Removal?
  • The treated area/s must be kept moisturized with a medical protective hydrator.
  • Avoid scratching or picking at the treated area/s.
  • Keep the treated area/s covered with a bandage whenever you will be in the sun.
  • Refrain from getting the treated area/s wet by avoiding pools, hot tubs, water sports or the ocean. These activities can resume when the area/s heal and are not raw or flaking.
Is it possible to just lighten the tattoo and not remove it completely?
  • Yes, this can be done. A specialized treatment plan can be designed for lightening the tattoo.
  • This plan will be adjusted from time to time as the treatment sessions progress so that you can achieve the level of lightening you desire.
Can I receive Laser Tattoo Removal if I have pre-existing scarring?
  • Yes, Absolutely. However, any scarring found in the area being treated will remain after the tattoo has been removed.
  • If the scarring was caused by the original application of ink into the tattoo, these scars will still be present after the tattoo is gone.
  • If your tattoo/s were placed over pre-existing scars, the scar might decrease the efficacy of the Laser Tattoo Removal process, as scars often exhibit a different type of pigment than surrounding healthy tissue.
Does it matter where my tattoo is located?
  • Tattoos can be removed from any part of the body, however the process moves faster when the tattoos are located closer to your body’s heart center.
  • The shattered pigment gets removed through the bloodstream, and therefore this process is expedited where circulation is best.
  • Areas nearest your heart, such as the chest, abs, and back will see faster results with fewer treatments.
  • Areas farther from the heart center such as hands, arms, feet and legs, tend to require more treatments because those areas have less circulation.
How is the ink removed from the body post treatment with Laser Tattoo Removal?

Once the ink molecules have been shattered by the laser, the fragments are then absorbed by the lymphatic drainage system and removed through the bloodstream.

Will Laser Tattoo Removal remove 100% of my tattoo?
  • While the EVO Q-PLUS C is one of the most effective lasers on the market in the world today, many factors combine to determine the ultimate results.
  • Individual results vary based on skin type, type and amount of ink, the ink color, how many colors there are and the age of the tattoo as well.
