Laser Skin Rejuvenation
If an instant and lasting glow is what you are looking for, the Carbon Laser Peel may be just right for you!
The Carbon Laser Peel, sometimes known as the “Charcoal Laser Facial” or the “Hollywood Laser Peel” is a 3 step laser treatment which helps diminish acne, fine lines and wrinkles and delivers immediate and noticeable results.
This is a “go to” treatment for those who need a “quick fix” for a special event or just want to look great in general. The Carbon Laser Peel takes a mere 30 minutes when treating the face only, and has no downtime.
The Carbon laser Peel is also equally effective for all skin types. We love equal opportunity laser treatments! Did we mention that it is painless? What’s not to love?
The process goes as follows:
- First, the face is gently cleansed of all makeup, dirt and debris.
- Then, a carbon solution is applied to all areas and allowed to penetrate for ten minutes
- Next, the carbon is heated with the laser to help it bind to the outer layer of dull skin cells
- We then use the Q-Switched laser to literally “zap” off the layer of carbon
- When the carbon goes, the outer layer of dull dead skin cells goes with it, leaving a fresh glowing countenance
We perform the Carbon Laser Peel using the Evo Q-PLUS C laser which is a Nd:YAG 1064nm Q-Switch laser. This laser is manufactured by the Quanta System Aesthetics Division and is distributed in America by Cartessa, a world leader in laser aesthetics.
The Carbon Laser Peel addresses the following skin concerns:
- Acne- Kills bacteria below the surface of the skin, blends discoloration from acne
- Hyperpigmentation, Sun damage, Melasma- Shatters the pigment deep in the skin
- Rosacea- Calms inflammation and reduces hypervascularity
Please see the FAQs for more details about this treatment.

Carbon Laser Peel FAQs
What is the Carbon Laser Peel? How does it work?
The Carbon Laser Peel, sometimes known as the “Charcoal Laser Facial” or the “Hollywood Laser Peel” is a 3 step laser treatment designed to help diminish acne, signs of aging and produce an instant and lasting glow.
Step 1- Apply Carbon solution to areas being treated.
Step 2- Allow carbon to set in and heat it with low intensity laser for best results.
Step 3- Use the Q-Switch laser on full intensity to remove the carbon and dead skin.
This results oriented treatment Takes only about 30 minutes to perform, is painless, and has no downtime. Pretty cool, huh?
Here are the details of the process:
- First the skin is cleansed and prepped for treatment.
- A carbon solution is applied to the areas you wish to treat, generally, the full face.
- The carbon is allowed to set in for about 10 minutes.
- The carbon absorbs and pulls excess dirt, oil and deep set toxins to the surface.
- Safety goggles will be placed over your eyes.
- We warm the carbon on your face with the laser on a low setting for extra efficacy.
- We then use the Nd: YAG 1064 nm wavelength Q-Switch laser on a normal setting which seeks out the pigment in the carbon and removes it using painless controlled thermal damage.
- As the laser removes the carbon, it takes the top layer of skin with it.
- The removal of the outer layer of the epidermis stimulates collagen, fibroblasts and elastin for a tighter and lifted appearance.
- The heat generates a remodeling of the pores which shrinks them for a smoother and more refined complexion.
- Acne is targeted directly at its core, killing the bacteria and reducing inflammation.
- Once all carbon is removed, the treatment is complete, sunscreen is applied and you are able to go right back to your regular daily routine.
- There is an immediate and lasting glow that is noticeable.
What kind of laser do you use for the Carbon Laser Peel?
We perform the Carbon Laser Peel using the Evo Q-PLUS C laser which is a Nd:YAG 1064nm Q-Switch laser. This laser is manufactured by the Quanta System Aesthetics Division and is distributed in America by Cartessa.

Is the Carbon Laser Peel an actual peel, like a chemical peel?
The Carbon Laser Peel does remove the outer layer of the skin, and thus is called a “peel” as that layer appears to have been “peeled” away. However, this treatment uses heat from a laser instead of chemicals to accomplish the same goal.
What are the key differences between the Carbon Laser Peel and a chemical peel?
- The Carbon Laser Peel uses heat instead of chemicals.

Throughout most of the treatment, you will only feel a warm sensation as the laser moves across the areas being treated. In certain areas, there may be more of a slight prickling sensation. Overall, this is one of the most easily tolerable treatments available in the world today. Many patients actually drift off to sleep.
Is there any downtime after a Carbon Laser Peel?
NO! One of the best things about this powerful treatment is that there is absolutely no downtime. You may resume your normal daily activities immediately following your service. That’s why it is often referred to as the “Lunchtime Laser Peel”. You can literally get treated while on lunch and go directly back to work. You may go to the gym, whatever you want. Just be careful to stay out of the sun.
How many Carbon Laser Peels will I need for best results?
You will receive a complimentary consultation and evaluation where your particular goals will be discussed. Your medical treatment provider will create a treatment plan custom made to help you achieve the desired results.
Generally, we do recommend a course of 3-6 treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart, in order to achieve the most dramatic and lasting results.
Many times, those who have already had the Carbon Laser Peel will simply come once every few months for a “One Off” touch up.
Is a Carbon Laser Peel safe before travel or a special event?
Absolutely, in fact we highly encourage clients to receive the Carbon Laser Peel prior to important events where you want to look your absolute best. We do recommend leaving a window of at least 4 hours just to be on the safe side, in case there is some lingering redness.
If travelling, the Carbon Laser Peel is safe to receive immediately prior to boarding your plane. So, bon voyage!

Fractional Laser Resurfacing FAQs
What is Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is a powerful treatment that offers a total transformation for your skin. This treatment, sometimes known as Fraxel or PIXEL, effectively reduces pigmentation, shrinks pore size, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles using carefully targeted thermal heat.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing also works wonders at reducing scars, including acne scars. Those who have suffered from acne swear by Fractional Laser Resurfacing. Fractional Laser Resurfacing is considered to be 3 times more powerful than an IPL(intense Pulsed Light) Laser Photo facial treatment.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing leaves skin looking tighter, smoother, and more refreshed. Skin texture is dramatically improved as is the overall clarity of the skin.
How does Fractional Laser Resurfacing work?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing targets microscopic pixel type dots in the epidermis and upper dermis. The targeted cells literally break down leaving the untargeted surrounding skin untouched. The targeted skin cells will quickly darken and then slough off, and new cells will form to create a lighter, brighter and tighter skin condition.
From the scientific perspective, the Fractional Laser Resurfacing process is actually called Photothermolysis, a combination of heat and light. This highly specialized advanced technology effectively targets damaged skin cells, producing a smoother and younger appearance once the targeted cells flake off.
What laser do you use to perform Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
We use the EVO Q-PLUS C laser which is manufactured by Cartessa in Italy and distributed by Quanta in the United States. This laser performs multiple functions, but for this treatment we employ the fractional skin resurfacing hand piece.
Is Fractional Laser Resurfacing good for all skin types?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is perfect for lighter skin types 1-4. Deeper skin tones need to be evaluated on a case by case basis. Those with deeper skin tones, or who have previously experienced keloid issues are not good candidates.
What skin issues does Fractional Laser Resurfacing treat?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is highly effective at treating wrinkles, fine lines (including around the eyes), acne scars, surgical scars, enlarged pores, melasma, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. Overall skin texture is greatly improved as well.
What does Fractional Laser Resurfacing feel like?
All areas being treated with Fractional Laser Resurfacing are numbed prior to the service to minimize any discomfort. There is an overall feeling of targeted heat which most patients describe as tolerable, but not too painful.
Does Fractional Laser Resurfacing hurt?
The treatment itself is very tolerable and would be described as a “medium” level of discomfort. The sensation is that of quick, controlled blasts of heat. Post treatment with Fractional Laser Resurfacing, skin feels as if it has a sunburn. We have found that a combination of ibuprofen and ice packs help reduce any inflammation or swelling that occurs post treatment.
Is Fractional Laser Resurfacing safe for me?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is a safe and highly effective treatment that is always performed by carefully trained registered nurses. Prior to treatment, each client is screened by a nurse practitioner to ensure that they are a good candidate. Skin types 1-4 are generally perfect, although those with skin type 4 need special evaluation.
Any downtime after Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
Healing time is fairly quick following a Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatment. However, redness and inflammation will be experienced for several days post treatment. For about a 5-7 days post treatment, the treated skin will begin to feel dry and tight and then begin to darken and flake off. Generally, we find it best to avoid public engagements during this transformational period.
How long does Fractional Laser Resurfacing take?
Although treatment time vary from one person to another, it usually takes under 30 minutes per session. We ask that patients arrive 45 minutes prior to the Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatment, so that the areas to be treated can be numbed. This is a nonsurgical treatment, but it is ablative, and does require numbing for comfort. We generally allow about 30 minutes for full numbing time.
Can I get Fractional Laser Resurfacing before a special event or travel?
We highly recommend planning a Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatment at least 3-4 weeks prior to any event or travel. It takes a little time to allow the skin to heal and get back in “public event” shape.
Who should not get Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
Those with deeper skin tones and keloid issues are not good candidates for Fractional Laser Resurfacing. One of our medical professionals will carefully evaluate your unique skin type and concerns to determine if Fractional Laser Resurfacing is right for you.
Any side effects from Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
There are no long lasting side effects after Fractional Laser Resurfacing. Post treatment, You can expect to experience some redness, swelling and flaking for about 10-14 days post treatment.
How many Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatments will I need?
For those seeking a basic overall reset of the skin, with emphasis on removing light hyperpigmentation and fine lines, it is possible that only one treatment may be needed, with reevaluation on an annual basis. Those dealing with Deeper acne scars often require a series of four to six Fractional Laser Resurfacing treatments, generally spaced four to six weeks apart.
How often should I treat with Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
If you have just received Fractional Laser Resurfacing, the usual wait period between treatments is four to six weeks. This is evaluated on a case by case basis by the medical specialist.
Can Fractional Laser Resurfacing treat various areas of the body?
Fractional Laser Resurfacing is also just as effective when used on various areas of the body as it is on the face. Acne scars or scars of any kind can be greatly reduced on many parts of the body with the Fractional Laser Resurfacing. Additionally, many patients choose to treat the hyperpigmentation on the hands at the same time as they treat the face. Any areas can be evaluated for treatment by the medical specialist when receiving the FREE consultation.
Say “Goodbye!” to those unsightly brown spots with an IPL Photo Facial!
IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a laser treatment that targets red, brown and purple pigments in the skin. This treatment is sometimes called a “Photo Facial”.
The light wavelength used in IPL is optimized to generate heat in the surface of the skin. This heat specifically targets and shatters unwanted excess melanin, and also targets, coagulates and removes broken blood capillaries. IPL is able to fragment unwanted pigment cells without any damage to surrounding tissue. Post treatment, the targeted spots will simply get slightly darker and then flake off.
Here is how the treatment goes:
- First, your skin will be cleansed of all makeup and residue
- Then, “Before” photos will be taken to accurately track your progress
- Next, a powerful numbing cream will be applied and will set in for 20 minutes.
- Then, the numbing cream will be removed and a gel applied along with eye goggles
- Now, we move directly into the laser treatment
- Total treatment time for the face only, including numbing, is about 50 minutes.
We perform the IPL using the Evo Q-PLUS C laser which is a Nd:YAG 1064nm laser device. This laser is manufactured by the Quanta System Aesthetics Division and is distributed in America by Cartessa.
IPL can treat the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, or any area of the body that has red and/or brown spots. We can also do spot treatments. There is relatively no downtime whatsoever. You may appear to have minor redness immediately post treatment, but then you are able to go right back to your normal daily life.
IPL addresses the following skin concerns:
- Freckles
- Acne Scars
- Broken capillaries
- Liver spots
- Melasma
- Rosacea
- Sun damage
The IPL Photofacial targets red and brown pigment in the skin only, leaving surrounding cells untouched. Broken capillaries will disappear by the end of treatment. Red and brown spots will get darker over a few days’ time, then flake off to reveal a brighter, more even complexion that is blemish free.

IPL Laser Therapy FAQs
What is IPL?
IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a laser treatment that targets red, brown and purple pigments in the skin. This treatment is sometimes called a “Photofacial.”
How does IPL work?
The light wavelength used in IPL is optimized to generate heat in the surface of the skin. This heat specifically targets and shatters unwanted excess melanin, and also targets, coagulates and removes broken blood capillaries. IPL is able to fragment unwanted pigment cells without any damage to surrounding tissue. Post treatment, the targeted spots will simply get slightly darker and then flake off.
What type of laser do you use for IPL?
We perform the IPL using the Evo Q-PLUS C laser which is a Nd:YAG 1064nm Q-Switch laser. This laser is manufactured by the Quanta System Aesthetics Division and is distributed in America by Cartessa.
What areas of the body can be treated with IPL?
IPL can treat the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, or any area of the body that has red and/or brown spots. We can also do spot treatments.
What does an IPL treatment feel like?
An IPL treatment feels similar to pinpoint rubber band snaps as the energy is applied to the skin. No numbing is needed for an IPL treatment.
Is IPL uncomfortable?
IPL is a very tolerable laser skin treatment. The discomfort level varies from person to person based on their own sensitivities. Each application of energy feels like a quick warm snapping sensation.
Is IPL safe for me?
IPL is perfectly safe for skin types 1-4 with very minimal downtime.
Is there any downtime after IPL?
There is little to no downtime after an IPL treatment session. The treated areas may be pink, mildly red or slightly swollen for up to three days post treatment. Most patients experience slight erythema(redness) and mild swelling or puffiness only on the same day as treatment. Depending on your job, it is possible to go back to work after treatment with IPL.
Can I get an IPL treatment before a special event or travel?
We recommend getting IPL at least 3-5 days or more before an event or travelling.
Who should not get IPL?
Those with deeper skin tones of type 5 or above should not receive IPL treatments. Patients that have had adverse reactions in the past to IPL are not good candidates. Those currently experiencing melasma will need to employ a skin lightening protocol for 6 weeks prior to treatment with IPL.
Are there any side effects to IPL?
Pigmented areas treated with IPL should get darker and then flake off. This is not a “side effect” per se, but should be expected. Mild inflammation and pinkness for 1-3 days is common post treatment.
How many IPL treatments will I need?
The number of sessions required for best results with IPL vary from person to person based on the skin type and severity of issues being treated. Your specialist will evaluate your individual needs and create a custom treatment plan for you. Some see perfect results in one treatment, and others need a series. Generally, no more than 6 treatments are required for optimal results.
How often should I schedule IPL treatments?
Treatment intervals are dependent on factors such as sensitivity, skin type and severity of issues being targeted. Generally, we recommend spacing IPL treatments 3 weeks apart. However, this will be evaluated aona case by case basis b y the treatment specialist.
If you have been searching for a safe and effective way to remove the dark patches of discoloration on your face, known as Melasma, we have the solution for you!
Melasma Toning is a laser treatment that is quick, painless, and can be done during your lunch break. This powerful laser treatment really works, so what are you waiting for?
Melasma Toning is performed using the Q-Switch function of the EVO Q-Plus C laser by Cartessa, the world leader in quality laser production.
The treatment is very comfortable and basically feels like tiny bursts of energy hitting the skin as the laser beam gently glides over the discolored areas. No numbing is required.
Melasma Toning can be performed on ANY SKIN TONE. Isn’t that good news? The Q-Switch function of the EVO Q-Plus C laser uses acoustic sound waves to literally shatter the pigment within the skin. The skin is NOT being treated with heat, which may aggravate and worsen melasma. Sound waves simply break up the pigment, which is then slowly absorbed by the body and eliminated through the lymphatic drainage system.
Melasma Toning treatments are gentle and have NO DOWNTIME. Most patients will require a series of treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results.

Melasma Toning FAQs
What is Melasma Toning Laser Treatment? How does it work?
Melasma Toning is a Q-Switched laser skin treatment that is relatively painless, highly effective and can be done on your lunch break. This treatment is designed to shatter the pigment in the skin that is causing the dark patches known as melasma. This laser uses sound waves to acoustically shatter the excess pigment. The pigment is then absorbed by the body over time and is slowly excreted by the lymphatic drainage system.
What type of laser is used to perform Melasma Toning?
We use the EVO Q-Plus C by Cartessa to perform the Melasma Toning.
Is Melasma Toning painful?
Melasma Toning is very tolerable. It is a quick and very focused treatment that basically feels like a warm rubber band is snapping on the treated areas.
Does Melasma Toning require numbing?
Does Melasma Toning require numbing?
No numbing is required for this treatment, but we can provide that for those who feel they are extra sensitive.
How long does it take to see results from Melasma Toning?
As each person will present with differing levels of darkness and discoloration from their melasma, it is difficult to predict how long it takes to see the final results. Some will require more treatments than others, and each person will metabolize the shattered pigment at different rates as well. Generally speaking, the results of one treatment will be seen within 1-2 months.
How long do the results last after a Melasma Toning treatment?
The timeline of results varies from person to person based on age, initial skin discoloration, exposure to the sun, and personal lifestyle choices such as smoking, alcohol consumption and general skincare regimens. For most, the results will last for at least 6 months to a year. With proper skin care, sun protection and overall maintenance, the results can last for years.
Is Melasma Toning invasive?
Not only is Melasma Toning non-invasive, but the laser applicator also will not even be touching your skin directly.
Is Melasma Toning right for my skin tone?
Yes! Melasma Toning is perfect for ANY skin tone.
Is it okay to have Melasma Toning before travel or a special event?
It is more than okay to have Melasma Toning prior to traveling or attending a special event. There is no downtime after Melasma Toning. You will most likely look slightly pink in the areas that were treated, and that pinkness will fade in only a few hours.
What should I do before a Melasma Toning treatment?
- It is recommended to stop using any retinoids 2-3 days prior to having any laser skin treatment.
- Do not tan or spend excessive time in the sun for a week prior to Melasma Toning.
What is the aftercare post treatment with Melasma Toning?
Melasma Toning is a no-downtime treatment with immediate and time sustained results. The areas which have been treated should be either kept covered or have sunscreen applied regularly.
What are the Post Procedure Instructions for a Melasma Toning treatment?
It is recommended that you avoid saunas, spas, excessive exercise or hot showers directly on the face for 24-48 hours following the treatment. It is important to maintain sun protection at all times, wearing a hat and sunscreen are both recommended. Normal cleansing, exfoliation and showering directly on treated areas can resume after 48 hours. Your skin should not be irritated post treatment, but avoiding heat and protecting yourself from the sun are key.
Who is not a good candidate for Melasma Toning?
The only contraindications are current pregnancy, current breastfeeding, or lactating.
